A set of four seventeenth century French engravings by Charles Simoneau(1645-1648) after paintings in the Palace of Versailles by Charles Le Brun (1619-1690), from the publication "Cabinet du Roi," the prints dated 1671 depicting Louis XIV armed on land and sea, the king giving orders for the simultaneous attack on four Dutch strongholds,in 1672, the conquest in 1674 of the Franche-Comte and the king's decision to make war on the Dutch in 1671, in leaf printed frames, set in handwashed mounts and gilt frames.
