Charity Auctions

Charity auctions are a well established means of increasing revenues, and Railtons assists fundraisers and charities throughout the North, helping organise auctions and raising significant amounts of money.

Advice to volunteers and organisers is given free, and bringing Railtons in at an early planning stage is wise. We often work with organisers for months leading up to an event, helping to maximising their return. From raffles and law compliance, to new ideas, silent auctions, corporate donations, bid increments, what sells best, bid sheets, ‘runners’ & ‘spotters’ at the event, the power of “on-line”, soliciting donations, catalogue size – to even assisting with the organisation of testosterone bidding environments!

Jim Railton has conducted sales in most of the prestige venues in the region, ranging from Hilton & Plaza Hotels to country houses, schools, churches, village halls and private homes. Beneficiaries have included the RNLI, schools, NSPCC, Air Ambulance, hospitals and health trusts, church committees, children’s groups, university departments, conservation trusts, and sports clubs, at events ranging from garden parties and ladies’ lunches, to masque balls and race meetings.
